RENPET CHAPTER 2

Renpet Chapter 2

'KHPR'

Before the planetary shift, Khenset was already
extremely hot in climate however the significant rise in
temperature globally and the shift’s occurrence endowed
much of the world’s population with the ability to deal
with it. Khenset is a place in Georgia where many black
people flocked to live in unity with their brethren in the
beginning of the twenty-first century. Khenset was once a
beautiful town before it was turned upside down by the
earth’s traumatic events.
Mike stumbled out of his daydream when he almost
lost his balance making a sharp turn around a corner. The
constant running widened the holes in his sneakers and
made it difficult to get sure footing. All the metal parts of
his clothing intensified with heat, giving off a slight scent
of burning flesh wherever they contacted his skin. He
focused on those areas with whatever bit of intention he
wasn’t using to keep running and stay conscious.
In the next moments he felt some relief from the areas
of singed skin, the absence of pain boosted his morale.
Mike visualized the thugs that were chasing him. He could
see in his mind’s eye where their footsteps hit the pavement
and felt the vibrations of their feet along with their
proximity to him. He thought about their feet being
bound and unable to move. He focused somewhere deep
inside himself that the possibility could reach outside of
his being and come true. Inside his head he heard a pop
followed by a high pitch ringing, they stopped moving.
The heat wave that engulfed his body began to waver and
before long the sun’s relentless attack ceased.

He kept running for another seven blocks and
stopped in a park. He dragged himself over to a tree and
passed out.....
