'Awakening'
My mother’s garb caressed my figure well, much to my
surprise. The metallic black material hugged all the
feminine proportions of my body like a long lost lover.
Only ifI had one to speak of, my Ka, my spirit, yearns
for the touch of a Nefer Aha, Beautiful Warrior.
"Serqet, you look radiant! You are becoming more like
the woman our mother is with each passing moment,”
said Gebsennuf.
Even though our mother transitioned into the higher
plane some time ago, Gebsennuf never referred to her
as in the past tense. I guess he was right. After all, our
kind has existed for what other life forms may
consider an eternity.
My rambling thoughts were interrupted when
Gebsennuf took my hand and led me through the
corridor to Eb N Ma‘at, Heart of Balance, the counsel
of elders’ chamber. I spent a lot of time in the many
passageways of our craft, just gazing into the vastness
through the portals.
I stared for moments on end at the nothingness
holding everything in place.Although I have seen this
cosmic beauty throughout the duration of this
lifetime, I am still captivated by what my eyes behold.
Now I will use those same eyes to hold something else
in captivation––my ancestors and without their
knowing. I am to take an active role in shaping their
future, my future, hmmm.
We are coming closer to the chamber, I can smell the
sweet scent of Netcher, Cosmic Force, permeating
from its walls.
Gebsunnef stopped in front of its doors, letting his
hand slip gently out of mine––farewell my brother. He
initiated the ritual necessary to raise our vibrations in
order to enter.
Upon entering the Eb N Ma’at, my eyes were struck
by the brilliance of its interior, I could not help
covering them with my hand. Through the shielding
of my fingers, my vision slowly adjusted to the light
and the seated figures became visible. A total of nine
members were present, all of whom were focused on
me intensely.
Although their eyes reflected peaceful intent, I could
feel pure Enkhet Sekhem, Mighty Energy, emanating
from them.
As they began their evaluation I remembered what my
mother taught me about centering myself and
remaining unattached to things. During my early years
her teachings were drilled methodically into my
consciousness, nevertheless my eyes still raced around
the chamber frantically. My mouth grew increasingly
dry along with my rising anxiety. The next moments
were to severely test my mental fortitude.
My entire life experience was to be literally weighed
against a feather. As a child I thought the stories were
just fantasy used to direct children towards the right
actions. Now that I stood on a levitating disc opposite
another disc holding an actual feather on it, my mind
longed to wipe away the childish feelings of that
memory. All my deeds and thoughts ranging from
honorable to unprincipled were to be taken into
account.
I nervously looked towards Gebsennuf ’s direction
searching for some type of solace. He abruptly turned
his head in my direction and a stoic look grew on his
face––showing not even the slightest sign of support.
For a moment I shuddered about the deeds I was not
so proud of before realizing that I had nothing to fear.
I am Sat N Netcher, Daughter of the Cosmos, and
nothing can hide within Netcher nor escape from it.
Slowly my confidence returned to me as the scale
holding the feather teetered a little, before coming into
balance with my experiences.....
The inspiration for my Sci-Fi Novel came from a dream of being one of the characters, Mike, and from reading one of the best Sci-Fi novelist.....
Octavia Butler.

Octavia Estelle Butler (June 22, 1947 – February 24, 2006) an American science fiction writer, one of the best-known among the few African-American women in the field. She won both Hugo and Nebula awards. In 1995, she became the first science fiction writer to receive the MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Grant.
Butler was born and raised in Pasadena, California. Since her father Laurice, a shoeshiner, died when she was a baby, Butler was raised by her grandmother and her mother (Octavia M. Butler) who worked as a maid in order to support the family. Butler grew up in a struggling, racially mixed neighborhood. According to the Norton Anthology of African American Literature, Butler was "an introspective, only child in a strict Baptist household" and "was drawn early to magazines such as Amazing, Fantasy and Science Fiction, and Galaxy and soon began reading all the science fiction classics."
She described herself as "comfortably asocial—a hermit in the middle of Seattle—a pessimist if I'm not careful, a feminist, a Black, a former Baptist, an oil-and-water combination of ambition, laziness, insecurity, certainty, and drive." Themes of both racial and sexual ambiguity are apparent throughout her work.
This woman's series of Sci-Fi novels push the envelope of creativity in this 'category'. In the event that you have never read her books, I urge you to read them!!!!
This book in particular did it for me:

These are some hot titles:

Shows like 'V', '4400' and 'Heroes' have got nothing on Octavia's creativity!!!!
Check them out....

'THE YEAR IN SCI-FI'
Saturday, May 22, 2010
Her kinsmen are the future descendants of the survivors of the “The Great Year”. The Great Year is marked when planet earth passes through an energy field during the solar system's complete orbit around the central sun of the Pleiades known as Alcione. Following this event, the Earth goes through continental shifts, dramatic weather patterns changes, intense exposure to ultraviolet rays and the transition of half of the world's population either into the next world or into a ''higher form''. The remaining beings on the planet gain a supernaturally heightened amount of pigmentation and the adolescents receive paranormal abilities. They struggle for balance in the wake of their new world along with the psychological trauma that inflicted the majority of them.
Through a sacred ritual, she is spiritual linked to a group of young beings and discovers they are her ancestors. The link leaves her physically paralyzed as she watches her ancestors endure the harsh realities they create in their daily lives. Serqet is propelled into a world of psychotic super-powered adolescents, self-righteous political figures and fear-stricken individuals. She must find a way to intercede when the threat of her bloodline is faced with eradication.

RENPET CHAPTER 3
ENDURANCE
......The concept of time dramatically changed forever as
the Earth’s travel around the sun took thrice as long as it
did before, this caused the average year to become three
times longer. The planet was in social chaos and disorder,
it was the darkest period in the recorded life story of their
world. After the brutal uprisings against the world’s gov-
ernments’ methods of handling the reparations of the
world, a beneficial system of government was created for
all countries. Citizens of all countries were provided free
health-care, housing/utilities, public transportation and
education. Commerce was only used for the purchase of
food, clothing, entertainment and luxuries.
The occurrences of The Year caused the earth to regen-
erate its ecosystem and natural resources at a rapid rate
ironically after it wiped out half of the global population
during the upheaval. Most of the food produced was
organically grown and standards for tending livestock were
very high.......

RENPET CHAPTER 3
ENDURANCE
.......Now he knew that she never meant him any harm and
that she held a passion for him that was both wild and
earnest. She closed her eyes slowly as if she was offering
him her life.
She kissed him softer and deeper than she did before.
His head got hot, he could feel his chest about to explode
and she picked up on it. She tore his shirt off and
motioned them over to the bed.
On the way over, they both kicked their sneakers off
their feet tumbling over furniture in the process. Mike
embraced her with his gift and levitated her over the bed.
He motioned his hand and all her outer garment was torn
off from her body. She gasped deeply and blushed as much
as her complexion would allow. He let her go onto the bed
gently and climbed on top of her. He felt her breasts. They
were soft and supple to his touch. He started to suck on
her nipples and they became erect in his mouth.
She grabbed his left hand and began to suck on his
ring finger. Mike became erect. With her other hand she
unzipped his pants and pulled them off with her feet.
Mike was impressed. She held his manhood between her
thighs and brought it closer to her.
"ARRRGH," he growled.
She bit deep into the flesh of his finger causing blood
to flow steadily. With his finger still in her mouth, she
started to swallow the blood that flowed out from the
puncture she made.
"Damn it! How much more do I have to bleed today,"
he said in partial pleasure and agony.
"Just a little bit more. Now bite into me," she said in
an erotic voice as she grabbed his head and teasingly
brushed her finger across his lips.
Puzzled and caught up in the moment, Mike found
himself doing just as she asked. He bit her finger until she
bled the same as he and sucked out blood feverishly.
Michelle groaned out loud in ecstasy.
Although Mike didn’t know whether he was possessed
or not, he did know that somehow this was right. They
were both intoxicated by each other’s excitement. He felt
as though he was going to lose consciousness and he could
see the same in her eyes. After a few moments they passed
out in each others' arms. These Terrans are very odd and
interesting beings.

CHAPTER 2
KHPR 'become'
.....Shakuan was indeed the strangest out of the group. He
was the only guy they knew that still carried on that the
Blackman was god, as if that mattered now or mattered at
all. The Terrans concept of creation keeps them from experiencing
the ever presence of Netcher. Nor do they fully
realize that the strongly melanated beings of this world
were the caretakers of this planet. For the past few years,
there were no beings on the earth who did not have a
strong representation of melanin in their pigmentation
and extremely coarse or curly hair. No one.
In addition, to the radical change in their outward
appearance, their genetic makeup was altered dramatically.
Many people kept their cultural roots and customs but
ethnically their dispositions and mannerisms were predominately
‘Black’ by nature.
This held true especially for a large percentage of the
adolescent population who developed special gifts. The
cause of this drastic change in the human population was
due to the dramatic shift in the earth’s rotation as the
entire planet passed through a photon field.
Many say that this was how people on this planet were
originally meant to be. People all over the world resented
the change, especially those who had ideologies and cultures
that were opposed to so-called Black People. At first,
there was much social unrest, then as time passed it was
just accepted and led to the disintegration of many cultural
barriers......

RENPET CHAPTER 2
'KHPR'
These four seemingly regular looking teenagers were
part of a much larger group. A group of what locals called
‘Accidental Killers’. Accidental Killers was the term the
residents used for the youth who haphazardly murdered
someone when using their powers. Mike was only one of
their enemies from the Second Neighborhood but he was
an enemy that brought them the most joy when they
harassed him, especially since his own neighbors didn’t
care for him too much either.
The town did not consider the youths responsible for
their actions and concluded they lacked the ability to control
themselves. It came to past that legislature had written
it off as a psychological disorder caused by The Year. Little
did they know that their theory was only partially true
and for the most part these juveniles knew they could get
away with the crimes they committed.
Nevertheless, the reasons behind these attacks were
usually motivated by curiosity or an outcry for help and
understanding. A youth either practicing their skill on an
innocent bystander or toying around with someone usual-
ly brought about the result of a tormented and disfigured
body laying in the streets of Khenset.
